Nandini milk price in Karnataka might increase by up to ₹8 per litre very soon. The state cabinet has approved this plan, but the final decision is still pending.
If the government passes the full price hike to the public, the popular blue packet (Toned Milk) will change from ₹46 per litre to ₹54 per litre.
Right now, the new prices are not active because voting rules (Model Code of Conduct) are in place for local elections. The government is waiting for permission from the Election Commission. Reports say the new price might start from November 1, 2026.
| Milk Packet Type | Current Price | Proposed New Price |
|---|---|---|
| Nandini Toned Milk (Blue Packet) | ₹46 per litre | ₹54 per litre |
If the ₹8 price hike is fully implemented, your monthly milk bill will go up. Here is a simple math breakdown:
This price change will also make items like tea, coffee, sweets, paneer, and hotel food more expensive in your city, as local shops will face higher costs.

Dairy farmers in Karnataka are facing tough times. The cost of cattle feed, grass (fodder), medicines, and transport has gone up rapidly.
Currently, Karnataka farmers get around ₹35 per litre for their milk. In neighbouring states like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra, farmers get much more (₹41 to ₹42 per litre).
This will be the fifth time Nandini milk prices are changing since 2022:
Don’t panic just yet. All variants of Nandini milk might not increase by the full ₹8. The Chief Minister will take the final call on the exact rate change.
