Rajasthan Overland Expedition

Monsoon Rajasthan Overlanding Expedition 2026 — Jimny Club Haryana

Most people think Rajasthan is a winter destination. Golden forts, camel safaris, dry desert winds — that’s the postcard version. But there’s another Rajasthan. One that almost nobody sees. Monsoon Rajasthan is a completely different planet.

Lakes that were bone dry fill up overnight. The Thar desert turns green. Forts rise out of the mist like something from another era. Leopards come out in the open. And the roads — the roads are yours.

That’s exactly why Jimny Club Haryana is doing what most people won’t.

Monsoon Rajasthan Overlanding 2026

What Is Monsoon Rajasthan Trip?

Monsoon Rajasthan Overlanding 2026 is a 15-20-day self-drive through Rajasthan covering approximately 3,900 km — starting and ending from Haryana.

Monsoon Rajasthan Overlanding 2026 is not a packaged tour. There is no bus. There is no fixed hotel. You bring your Jimny (or any capable 4×4). We plan the route, organize food and stay arrangements, and lead the convoy.

It’s overlanding the way it’s meant to be — raw, real, and on your own wheels.

Monsoon Rajasthan Overlanding 2026 Route

No backtracking. No zigzag. One smooth loop across the entire state.

Part 1 — The Northwest Run Alwar → Sikar → Churu → Hanumangarh → Bikaner → Jaisalmer → Sam Sand Dunes → Barmer

Starting from the Haryana border, the convoy heads northwest through the less-traveled interior of Rajasthan. Churu and Hanumangarh are raw, unhurried towns where monsoon transforms the dry scrubland. Bikaner gets greener than you’d ever imagine. And then Jaisalmer — the golden fort city — hits different when the sky is dramatic and overcast. We camp at Sam Sand Dunes. Rain-washed desert under a clearing night sky.

Part 2 — The Southern Return Barmer → Mt. Abu → Banswara → Chittorgarh → Kota → Pushkar → Ajmer → Pali → Jalore → Balotra → Jodhpur → Nagaur → Jaipur

This is where the trip earns its name. Mt. Abu shrouded in clouds. Chittorgarh — Asia’s largest fort — wrapped in monsoon greenery. Kota sitting on the swollen Chambal river. And Pushkar’s sacred lake, full for the first time all year, impossibly calm. Jodhpur’s blue city pops even harder in the grey monsoon light.

Part 3 — The Eastern Loop Home Jaipur → Sawai Madhopur → Dholpur → Timangarh Fort → Bharatpur → Alwar

The final stretch through eastern Rajasthan — Ranthambore country, Chambal ravines, and historic forts that most tourists never find. Back to Alwar. Back to Haryana. Done.

Why Monsoon? Aren’t the Roads Bad?

Yes. Some sections will be challenging. That’s the point.

Monsoon Rajasthan gives you:

  • Thar mud and sand tracks near Barmer — the kind of off-road that tests your machine
  • Leopard sightings near Jawai and Mt. Abu (easier to spot in monsoon than any other season)
  • Empty roads — no tourist season means no crowds, no queues, no noise
  • Visuals that don’t exist in winter — waterfalls, green hills, full lakes, dramatic skies
  • Prices that are 40-60% lower than peak season for stays and food

If you’ve been overlanding in winter Rajasthan before, you haven’t really seen it.

How This Works (Self Drive Format)

This is a self-drive convoy. Here’s what that means:

You handle:

  • Your vehicle (Jimny or equivalent 4×4 recommended)
  • Your fuel
  • Driving your own machine

We handle:

  • Complete 20-day route planning
  • Food arrangements throughout the trip
  • Stay bookings (budget to mid-range, based on group preference)
  • Lead vehicle and convoy coordination
  • Local knowledge and navigation support

Group size: 5-10 vehicles max. Limited intentionally — so it stays a convoy, not a caravan circus.
