In the latest twist of the Indian rap scene, Honey Singh has brushed off Badshah’s recent public apology, signaling that their long-standing rivalry might not be over just yet. At a recent concert, the ‘Lungi Dance’ star made it clear that he has no interest in rekindling any kind of relationship with Badshah.
For those who may not know, Honey Singh and Badshah were once the dynamic duo behind the rap group Mafia Mundeer. Alongside Raftaar, Ikka, and Lil Golu, they churned out hits like “Delhi Ke Deewane” and “Khol Botal.” But in 2011, a massive fallout caused the group to disband, leading to years of public spats and social media trolling.
Fast forward to GraFest 2024 in Dehradun, where Badshah decided to put an end to their 15-year-long feud with a heartfelt public apology during his performance. While many fans hoped this would pave the way for a reconciliation, Honey Singh’s response was anything but warm.
In an interview with News 18, Honey Singh was asked about his thoughts on Badshah’s apology. His response was blunt: “I don’t even understand what he is saying. Have I ever said anything about anyone? People are saying that there was a fallout. I don’t understand why people talk about the Honey Singh-Badshah fight. One person talked about me for so many years, and then one day he apologized. What should I say about him?”
He went on to say, “I have nothing to do with him. I don’t even consider him. He was never my friend. If he had been my friend and something had happened, it would have been different. I haven’t seen that video, but I heard he mentioned misunderstandings between us. He had his own thoughts and opinions about me. After many years, he realized, which is a good thing.”
With both artists having a massive fan base, this ongoing saga has kept their followers on the edge of their seats. While Badshah’s apology was a step towards mending fences, Honey Singh’s reaction shows that the wounds might still be fresh.
Will these two rap giants ever bury the hatchet, or will this be another chapter in their storied rivalry? Only time will tell.
